Kuzbass’s Exhibition Activity Pioneer’s 20th Birthday

Abstract
Kuzbasskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Company has seen its 20th birthday... Is it a long or a short time span? From the point of view of a historical period it’s undoubtedly short. But so many interesting and creative things have been done over these years and you can say with confidence that it’s a marked event! Over the last two decades the company has gained a serious exhibition event organizing and conducting experience and secured a strong foothold in Russia’s exhibition service market. The article gives a brief overview of the exhibition company’s yesterday and present day. It’s the nineteenth time that Kuzbass soil will welcome the representatives of the largest coal production and processing companies, coal and coke consumers, mining machinery manufacturers and shipping companies from Russia and abroad. The article summarizes last year’s exhibition results, welcome speeches, the forthcoming exhibition’s topics as well as some details about “Security, Industrial and Personal Safety” exhibition.

Substantiation of Quarry Equipment LED Floodlight Application

Abstract
The current development of Russia’s mining industry entirely depends on the improvement of mineral resource field development systems. It is considerably helped by the introduction of innovative ideas regarding mining-specific machinery and technologies.
Various mine transport equipment is used in mining. Also dependant on the light quality is the efficient use of machinery, working safety and labor productivity. The better the working area is illuminated the more comfortable, safer and faster the way is the whole working process is performed in. The article provides LED floodlights for quarry equipment applications.

People Location and Detection System.
Field Testing at “Reklinghausen” Mine

Abstract
A large number of automatic and interleaving control processes for various equipments make it difficult for the mining personnel to monitor all coal production processes. The higher automation level a cleaning plant has the more jeopardized the personnel’s lives are. In order to improve the miner’s safety a people protection system has been developed in cooperation with Rostok University. This system locates people using radio signals. This system features a very low exposure to signal interferences caused by a multipath propagation of external broadband interference. To ensure a maximum safety the system is made with redundancy and operates with high accuracy and high availability. All approvals required for operation within mines are available. The article highlights a local underground and mining people detection system.

“SDS-Ugol”: Stability Strategy

Abstract
“SDS-Ugol” Holding has marked a newly established Dresser’s Day by holding a theoretical and practical conference. This new holiday was only established by the company’s management this year timing it to the second Sunday of April. On April 5 on the basis of “Chernigovets” open-pit mine a conference “Development of Coal Benefication at JSC HC “SDS-Ugol” was held. It was attended by the managers of concentrating mills of the holding and representatives of design engineering firms and university entities involved in personnel training for coal benefication center. Coal Industry Vice President of CJSC HC “SDS” Managing Director of JSC HC “SDS-Ugol” Vladimir Baskakov voiced in his report one of the major lines of the company development program: “our today’s is not to get a maximum profit or achieve a record coal production but to ensure that the company develops steadily over an extended period.” The forum dealt with all aspects of meeting this task: bigger share of highly remunerative coal and consequently new approaches to coal benefication and deep processing, recycling and use of associated wast, ensuring environmental safety for coal production, personnel training for the industry needs and social responsibility of the companies. The article highlights all these issues.

Capacitive Current Compensation and Leakage Current Protection

Abstract
The article highlights the issues of choosing parameters for the activation of protection against leakage currents whose functioning is based on the use of direct superimposed current, zero sequence voltage and lower voltage of a damaged phase. The combination of the above protection functioning modes and the introduction of non-automatic capacitive current compensation make it possible to considerably increase the operating safety of electric installations in mines. Also stated are the results of field testing of compensation and leakage current protection module designed by EXC (Energy X Components) which showed that the maximum amount of electricity at the place of closing is five times or greater less than the specified value.

Comparative Analysis of Mine EPS Compressors

The article compares EPS with liquid-packed ring and rotary pumps and provides operation diagrams for compressors with different power and at different vacuum. Rotary compressors featuring capacities of up to 50 m?/min and pressure differences of up to 500 mbar are technically and economically advantageous for mobile mine EPS.

Substantiation of a New Concept and Principles of Ensuring
Technological and Organizational Stability of Coal Fuel Production

Abstract
The coal-miners’ hope that a protracted gas pause may be over soon does not come true as according to the author of the article oil, gas and sweet water while affected by geothermal processes are continuously generated from sea water containing 0.03 kg/m? of carbon which also needs to be taken into account when degassing coal series. According to the author’s hypothesis carbon was formed extraterrestrially from a sunken powder-like veil during the Earth formation period alternating with rock dust. In this article the author substantiates that it must be recovered from the coal-bed, transported and burnt in heat carriers in powdered state and to this end principally new mining machines are proposed.

Single Functionality Principle for Coal Benefication Separating Processes

Abstract
The article sets forth the single functionality principle for coal benefication based on the example of gravitational processes where two separating signs occur at the same time such as size and density of particles which reduces the technological efficiency of separation and makes it difficult for the system to transfer into an equilibrium position. Also provided is the value of a mean probable deviation Epm when dressing coal of different sizes in heavy medium separators and cyclones, jig washers, screw-type separators and on tables as well demonstrating the advantages of coal separation in heavy media as here the separation occurs by a single separating sign – grain density.

First Notification about XVII International Coal Preparation Congress

Abstract
The next XVII International Coal Preparation Congress will take place in Istambul, Turkey on October 1 to 6 2013. Traditionally the International Congress will focus on the issues of using state-of-the-art technologies for coal preparation, sharing of knowledge and expertise among the experts from around the world and of course establishing close relationships between business and science. Careful 3D Crushing

Abstract
On March 30 2012 the presentation of equipment by Gundlach Equipment Corporation which is a 3D crushing pioneer was held at the premises of RPB “KuzbassServis” Ltd in Misky. This event allowed the experts and owners of Kuzbass coal companies to get to know the latest engineering solutions and technical developments of the US crushing and sorting equipment manufacturers that are successfully used around the world. Coal Market 2012: Infrastructure, Exports, Challenges and Outlook

Abstract
On February 16 2012 in Redisson Slavyanskaya Hotel, Moscow a seminar “Coal Market 2012: Infrastructure, Exports, Challenges and Outlook was held in parallel with VIII International Forum “Ferrous and Non-ferrous Metal Scrap 2012”. The seminar was hosted by “RUSMET” Company Group. The key issues of the seminar were as follows: global market overview; Russia and Ukraine’s energy and coking coal markets; Russia’s external and domestic market pricing forecasts; possibilities for small and medium-sized coal production and trading companies; port infrastructure (drawbacks and development); upgrading and new technologies for a coal industry and a lot more. The seminar was attended by the representatives of coal production and processing companies, coal and coke consumers, representatives of metallurgy and energy companies, trading companies form Russia and other countries, exporters, manufacturers of equipment for coal industry applications, analysts, investors, representatives of state establishments and research organizations.
