Abstract

The article investigates the issues of digital technology implementation for the production processes improvements in the coal mining industry. Modern digital technologies applicable in the coal mining industry include three-dimensional modeling, digital twins, remote automated dispatching and remote equipment control and maintenance, video surveillance and video analytics, geological exploration, and real-time modeling of operations of entire coal deposits. The authors find that the use of digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence and other, can potentially increase the efficiency of coal mining enterprises, reduce the negative impact on the environment, and improve the safety of personnel.
