The article provides historical information about the development of the seismic monitoring system "GITS" at the mines of JSC «Vorkutaugol», a description of the current modifications of the system and prospects for its further development.

The results of studies of the relationship between seismic activity andgeological or technical conditions of mining processes are presented.

The article also presents the results of numerical modeling for predicting high-pressure zones in situation of poor caving of roof.
