Abstract

The article analyses the main risks of prospective development of the coal industry in conditions of evolving trends for most of the world countries to abandon hydrocarbon energy sources, i.e. decarbonization, as well as the impact of sanctions restrictions on the Russian coal industry which is one of the major players in the global coal export market. Forecasts are presented for the development of the coal industry in the world and the leading countries, taking into account the impact of the above-mentioned restrictions.
