Abstract
Traditionally on the last Sunday of the month the miners celebrate their professional holiday – the Miner’s Day. For Company “SUEK” it’s one of the most significant events throughout the year when the company sums up the main results, awards merits and achievements, shares its prospects while its employees enjoy large-scale celebration events. On the eve of the Miner’s Day the Ugol magazine interviewed Vladimir Artemyev, Deputy Director General Company “SUEK”. The interview deals with the Company’s last year and this year performances and near-term targets.

Abstract
If one compares mechanical service with operation of human body members, it can be said without exaggeration that it performs the heart’s function. Shutdown at an industrial facility reminds struggling for a human life. To prevent this, Belon pays the closest attention to HR issues. Understanding the huge importance of machineman vocation, they nurture here future prospect employees from the very school years, attract youngsters of redbrick universities, improve skill level of working personnel. Within the celebration of the Miner’s Day, the company decided to determine through the professional mastership competition, how high is the level of specialists of energy-mechanical service of OJSC «Belon». This year, the Best Mechanic nomination was introduced for the first time into traditional competitions among the representatives of vocations participating in production processes at OJSC Belon facilities.

New Horizons of Raspadsky Open Pit Mine

In June 2013, the Raspadsky open pit mine (CJSC «Raspadskaya Ugolnaya Kompaniya») produced 355 thous. tons of coal. This permits to say with assurance that the facility copes with its assigned task – operate in the mode of production of 4 mln tons of coal per year. The article describes history, current situation and short-range plans. The Open Pit Mine Director narrates the facility everyday activities.

XX International Specialized Exhibition “Ugol Russia and Mining” and IV Specialized Exhibition “Security, Industrial and Personal Safety”: Summary, Events and Facts
Abstract
The 20th International “Ugol Russia and Mining” Trade Fair recognized as the world show No 1 related to underground mining techniques, and the 4th Labour and Life Activity Protection and Safety Trade Fair took place from June 4 to June 7 in Novokuznetsk in Kuzbasskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Complex. Organizers of the events are two exhibition companies - Kuzbasskaya Yarmarka and Messe Duesseldorf GmbH (Germany). High level of Coal forum is confirmed by Signs of the largest exhibition associations: UFI – Universal Fair Industry and RUEF – Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. Since 2003, this project has been taking place under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The article reviews the firms-participants of the “Ugol Russia and Mining” Trade Fair and their exhibits – equipment displayed in the fair. It presents also laureates of the “Ugol Russia and Mining 2013” Trade Fair.

Operations in Low Permeability Coal Seams
Abstract
With increase of underground mining depth, prevention of sudden coal and gas outbursts, as well as gas control techniques become one of major problems. Development of coal multilayer fields is performed in conditions of increased gas content and high gas pressure. Gas factor risk management during development workings and in working area should be carried out by way of accurate risk assessment and using different drilling methods. This means drilling of relief and exploratory holes, horizontal drilling for preliminary methane drainage and vertical drilling for extraction of the gas coming from soil and roofing. DMT offers an integrated solution of these tasks on the basis of scientific methods. Such developments rely on engineering possibilities of the given degassing technique. To implement these solutions, HAZEMAG MINING offers various packaged machines with drilling tools.
