Abstract

Operation of technological equipment poses the task of its reliability analysis. A great interest lies in obtaining estimates of reliability and failure-free operation of belt conveyors, which are directly related to the reliability of idlers. These idlers are repairable elements. The article discusses an approach with successive repair of failed idlers. The Kolmogorov equations were chosen as the mathematical tool for the study. The following characteristics of the system of n independently working idlers are obtained and presented in the article: the probability of serviceable operation of any k-number of idlers; the mathematical expectation of the number of properly operating idlers; the probability of failure of not more than i-number of idlers. These probabilities can be used for estimation of necessary quantity of spare roller bearings and planning of works on maintenance of the conveyor.
