Abstract

The geography of surface coal mines and thermal power based on coal combustion has been determined in the Madhya Pradesh States in the Republic of India. The paper presents the results of studying the current state of surface mining of a large-scale coal deposit at the border of the Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh States using remote sensing data from space. Production potential of the operating surface coal mines has been identified in the course of remote monitoring and analytical calculations based on studying the models and numbers of mining and transport equipment.

Keywords

Remote sensing of the Earth from outer space, coal mining states of India, fuel and energy complex, coal pit mines, volumes of coal production and consumption, distribution of productive forces.
