Abstract

An authors international research team has analyzed the global issue of hazardous forms of rock pressure release during underground mining. A number of geodynamic events that occurred in the coal mines of the People's Republic of China have been studied with an identification of the most dangerous local areas requiring special attention with the most suitable geophysical methods for stress monitoring and special strata treatment have been proposed. The results of measuring the level of electromagnetic emission in a stressed rock-coal layer are presented, and the appropriateness of using electromagnetic emission registration devices to control the stress in mine local areas is substantiated. The main ways of accurate forecasting and prevention of mine disasters

based on continuous multi-system monitoring of the rock massif are determined.

Keywords

Geophysical method, geodynamic event, rock pressure, stress, destruction, prevention of rockbursts, ground control, strata monitoring, forecast.
