Abstract
The presented work is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the prospects for the production of liquid hydrocarbons from coal in Russia, taking into account technological, economic and environmental aspects. Under the conditions of limited reserves of traditional energy sources and growing demand for energy carriers, coal is considered as a promising alternative resource. The aim of the study is to assess the possibilities of utilising Russian coal resources for the production of synthetic liquid fuels. Special attention is paid to the technologies of gasification, hydrogenation and thermal dissolution of coal. The economic efficiency and environmental risks of liquid hydrocarbons production from coal are analysed. The resource base of coals suitable for processing is assessed and measures to minimise the negative impact on the environment are proposed. The article concludes with conclusions about the prospects and feasibility of the development of liquid hydrocarbons production from coal in Russia, taking into account modern technological and economic realities.
