Abstract

The paper presents the positive experience of joint international cooperation between scientists and mining engineers from Russia and Kazakhstan in the implementation of anchor supports for fixing preparatory rifled workings in conditions complicated by natural and man-made factors in the operation of a chromium ore deposit by the 10th Anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan mine “10th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan”, (Donskoy ore mining and processing plant, Kazakhstan) with self-collapse and end-hole mining systems by ore release. In the scope of pilot tests, a geotechnical assessment of the contour array was carried out by sampling ore-bearing core at the experimental sites and the physico-mechanical characteristics of the samples were established. A visual video endoscopic examination of the borehole surface was carried out, which made it possible to reliably conduct an initial assessment of the condition of the contiguous massif of mine workings in experimental areas for the presence of stratification and fracturing zones, to assess the condition of the rocks of the contiguous massif for subsequent assessment and prediction of the stability of the fixed workings. At the test stage, the intensity of displacements and observations of roof rock stratifications in the experimental sections were carried out at the sites of installation of stationary reference stations RG 3 (deep reference point 3). An economic assessment and comparison of mounting options for experimental mining sites has been carried out. An assessment and conclusion is given on the operability of the types of supports used as well as recommendations for further improvement of fastening to increase the stability of mine workings and stabilize the contour array in these mining and geological conditions.
