Abstract

The article proposes the development of the economy of the resource-type region– Kemerovo region – Kuzbass on new organizational principles– on the basis of agglomerations. The implementation of this type of economic development is possible due to the high urbanization of the population and orientation towards coal mining. Methodologically, the application of a process and dynamic approach to the study of agglomeration is proposed. The process approach is applied in the context of studying the possibilities of forming agglomerations: prerequisites and factors. Dynamic – in the process of studying the influence of agglomerations on economic development trends. The regulation of agglomerations involves the use of project management, which involves business and government. The formation of agglomerations contributes to the achievement of a policy of sustainable development of the region's economy, solving the tasks of socioeconomic development of the Kemerovo region – Kuzbass.
