Abstract
Currently, the operating costs of mining enterprises (especially quarries) tend to rise, while traditional fleet management systems cannot handle the scale, stochasticity, and autonomy required for increasingly complex open-pit operations. Researchers therefore explore alternatives, including AI-based algorithms aligned with “Mining 4.0” requirements. This article reviews management systems in the mining industry, outlining their evolution for quarries and the emerging need for intelligent algorithms.
