Abstract
The most productive mode of operation for a hydraulic backhoe is bottom digging and bottom loading into transport vehicles. However, this mode increases the haulage distance of the rock mass. This article examines how dump truck productivity changes with factors affecting total haul distance. Preliminary conclusions are drawn on productivity reductions under various loading modes using the joint operation of a Komatsu PC 1250 backhoe and BelAZ-7530 220-tonne dump trucks. Dependencies of the number of truck trips on loading mode changes and the associated haulage distance increase have been established.
